CMS Hosting Options
Shared hosting environment
To support the infrastructure of the NetDevPlus content management system, we recommend an environment that separates the password protected CMS edit website and live website both using Microsoft IIS 6.0 and the backend Microsoft SQL 2005 database.
Although all these elements could be hosted on one server, a recommended layout would be to assign them to separate servers.
A cost effective option with just such a setup is provided by XM London's shared hosting option. This is where a farm of high availability servers each host several websites or databases depending on the role.
Dedicated servers
For more data intensive users, NetDevPlus offers dedicated managed IBM or HP branded servers.
The XM hosting facilities consist of:
- Shared server web hosting facilities on Microsoft IIS with or without Microsoft SQL database backend and SMTP connectivity
- Standalone server web hosting facilities on Microsoft IIS with or without Microsoft SQL database backend and SMTP connectivity
- Server hardware - we make use of IBM and Hewlett Packard server hardware for all new server installations. We can also install and mange Enterprise VM Ware environments upon these platforms.
- POP3 and IMAP 4 and web mail hosting using Mdaemon mail server software.
- DNS registration and management (member of Nominet)
- XM London's own NetDevPlus CMS site installation
- Third party component and software installation and upgrading (only already approved and tested third party software)
The hosting arrangements we would offer you would include as standard:
- At least 99.7% network connectivity uptime (excluding failures in 3rd-Party telecommunication circuits and scheduled outages)
- Responses to any emergency fault reports within 30 minutes of receiving them during office hours
- All commercially reasonable endeavours to fix or repair the server within 4 hours of acknowledging the problem
- 24/7 site support
