Background

XM London has been the official Web provider to Her Majesty the Queen for several years.

When the Palace wished to re-design its official website, XM London faced a creative challenge in terms of conveying the grandeur and illustriousness of the Monarchy in a clear yet understated way.

In addition, staff in the Palace’s Press Office would be managing the site – which receives an average of 24 million visits per annum - and they required an easy-to-use content management system.

Ability to create multiple microsites within centralised content management environment
Flexibility to manage and change all creative elements
Ability to respond quickly and create pages for 'hot topics'

Solution

The site, with its dramatic new design, includes everything from sending the Queen a telegram to applying for a job at the Palace and buying tickets to visit a royal residence.

Deploying NetDevPlus ensured that the site's templates would be extremely simple to manage. Because the templates could be broken down into small areas, it was easy for people maintaining the site to update it with either graphical content, text, flash and movie files or a combination of all three.

Using NetDevPlus has made several subsequent updates to the site – including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee – straightforward and cost-effective.
